The ABMA 2010 Fall Meeting will be held from October 6th – 7th at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel in Northbrook, IL.
This year’s theme is “Leading into the Recovery: It’s Your Move.” In addition to our annual committee meetings and industry reception and dinner, we will have three fantastic speakers lined up for you to discuss critical industry related topics such as free enterprise, counterfeiting, and the importance of having great leadership.
SPEAKER HIGHLIGHTS
The Passion of Leadership
Henry Givray, President & CEO, SmithBucklin
Leadership is the uniquely consistent and defining force behind great, enduring organizations. But what is leadership? We know when we see it. We can measure its impact. We can feel how it inspires us. But leadership is not a rigorous science. It is often a vague and elusive concept for which there are no simple formulas or set rules. SmithBucklin President & CEO Henry Givray believes that leadership can’t be taught—it must be learned through a process of personal, active engagement and self-discovery. In his presentation, Henry offers a working framework for people to make that happen in their own lives. He also provides clarity on the issue of “what is great leadership,” and suggests practical ideas and principles for everyday use.
Counterfeiting: Research Impacting Effective Enforcement
Jeremy Wilson, Michigan State University (MSU)
What if we could create a roadmap to stop counterfeiting using historical data and trends to determine how to effectively cut off the criminal network around this critical issue? Jeremy Wilson from Michigan State University MSU’s Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection Program (A-CAPPP) shares their research approach to attacking this issue, success stories from other industries and how to bring this success to the bearing industry.
