ABMA Releases Updated Standards Library
[Washington
D.C.] – January 25, 2012 – The American Bearing Manufacturers Association
(ABMA) has completed an update its ANSI/ABMA standards library. Over the past
twelve months, the ABMA Bearing Technical Committee oversaw this process to
ensure the integrity of the standards library.
This
process has involved a new format design that has enhanced the clarity of
formulas, charts and graphs. In addition, ABMA has edited and added new
methodologies to many of our standards. This update also included the complete
revision of ABMA Standard 19.1 and re-release of Standard 20.
ABMA Standard 19.1- Tapered Roller
Bearings - Radial - Metric Design
This standard has been revised to be in compliance with current ISO standards. The bearing dimension tables in section 4
have been updated to include all designs from ISO355. In addition, the ABMA designation part
numbers have been replaced with the reference part numbers commonly used in the
industry and the Dimension Series designation per ISO355. The tolerance tables in section 5 have been updated
to be in compliance with the values specified in ISO492.
ABMA
Standard 20 - Radial Bearings of Ball, Cylindrical Roller and Spherical Roller
Types - Metric Design
The
re-release of this standard specifies boundary dimensions, tolerances and radialinternalclearances
for metric radial ball, cylindricalrollerand spherical
rollerbearings incommon usage in the UnitedStates. This is
the key standard in the United States for defining classes of these types of bearings.
