Update from NAM:

Senate Approves Additional PPP Funding in New COVID-19 Relief Bill

The Senate has approved $310 billion in funding to restart the Paycheck Protection Program. Included in the new funding tranche is a $60 billion set-aside to ensure that businesses served by community development financial institutions, minority depository institutions, community banks, credit unions and certified development companies can access PPP funds. The NAM was a vocal leader in securing this expansion of the PPP and has repeatedly called on Congress to ensure small businesses have access to the funds they need.

The Small Business Administration says it’s “unable to accept new applications for the Paycheck Protection Program based on available appropriations funding.”

Last night, senators came to an agreement on a “phase three” COVID-19 bill, which the Senate is expected to pass later today. The $2 trillion relief package will provide loans to small businesses, direct financial checks to many Americans, expanded unemployment insurance and much more.
